Is the breath test hard to do?

No!! The Drager Interlock is the only Interlock that you do not have to hum at the same time as providing a breath sample.  A simple breath out followed by a suck back for a couple of seconds and you are on your way.

 

How long will installation take?

It depends on the type of car you drive as European cars will take longer to install an Interlock into.  A couple of hours is the average time most cars will take for installation.

 

Do I have to bring the car in myself?

You can have someone else drop your car in for your installation but we will require you to pick it up after installation so we can train you and take a reference image for your program.

 

Will foods/mouth wash cause a BAC reading?

The new Drager 7000 Interlock has the ability to detect ‘mouth alcohol’ which is commonly food/non alcoholic drink sources that can attract a reading.  The new unit will then prompt you that it has picked up an interferrent and allow another opportunity to do another test. Mouth wash does contain alcohol so switch to a non alcoholic brand to avoid readings.

 

Can other people drive my car?

Yes others can drive your car but they will still need to do the same breath samples required by you.  All readings will be reported when you return to Court or VicRoads when applying to have your Interlock removed so you should be careful those driving your car are aware of what to do.

 

Will installing an Interlock damage my car?

No, our units are installed internally and cause no permanent damage or drill marks to your car.

 

How long does servicing take each month?

Monthly monitors only take 5-10 mins, we like to set you up with an appointment a month before but are happy for you to call if it is easier on the day to arrange a convenient time for you.

 

Can someone else bring my car in for my monthly monitoring?

Yes, if you are not available to bring your car in someone else can do that for you.
